Give Local, Eat Local, Gift Local: Supporting Our Southcoast Community This Holiday Season!
The holidays are a season of generosity — and around here, we believe the most meaningful gifts start close to home. At New Bedford Food Tours, our mission goes beyond incredible food and rich history. We're here to connect people to the heart of the Southcoast: its small businesses, its makers, its artists, its natural places, and the organizations that lift our neighbors up every day.
This year, we’re embracing our mantra of “give local, eat local, gift local” and inviting you to join us. When you support Southcoast organizations, you’re not just donating — you're investing in the people, culture, and character that make this region unlike anywhere else.
Below are seven local organizations doing remarkable work. We’re proud to shine a little light on them this season, and we hope you’ll explore how you can support their continued impact.

They offer small business assistance, financial literacy training, homebuyer education, and help with tax preparation, among other services. They also support many of the immigrant-owned restaurants and food businesses featured on our North End Food Tour, helping them grow, stabilize, and thrive. In addition, CEDC activates public spaces through their Patio de Comida, a weekly summer celebration of immigrant entrepreneurship and community featuring food, music, and family-friendly activities
How they impact the Southcoast: By fostering economic stability and growth, the CEDC helps individuals achieve self-sufficiency and strengthens the overall economic health of New Bedford. Their work directly translates to more thriving families and a more robust local economy.
